Per a request I have revised this and taken out info on the source in which I received this, as well as one other item of information in which I went back and forth about posting anyway.

Revised 11/8/06

Interview from Source with Seminole Co. Sheriff’s Dept.:

I just called the SCSD and they said they could neither confirm nor deny that Rebecca had hired a PI. He actually said it was the first he had heard of it and speculated she could have been referring to either TES, or maybe even her attorney, who, he says, is responsible for telling the Clarks not to submit to the LDT or to cooperate with authorities.

He told me that aside from the initial investigation, which he says is still actively ongoing, Rebecca has had little to no contact with them aside from when Homer was picked up. He also said that they were taking a wait and see approach to questioning Homer and letting DHS “do their thing” and that they have him in counseling and that they are hoping he will reveal information over time during his sessions with them. He confirmed Homer was still in DHS custody.

The debris from the burnt out house has been removed over the last couple of months. He said they had all types of dogs used in the initial search for Colton and no trail of any kind was picked up and that they searched through the debris and surrounding area extensively.

He said a neighbor claimed to have seen Colton about a week before he was reported missing. I forgot to confirm whether he felt the neighbor could have mistaken Homer for Colton.

As for finding Homer, a dog was used there but not the same one that was used to search for Colton. The dog used to find Homer took the LE handler right to Homer. While several dogs were used in the search for Colton, this particular dog was not.

He said they are very concerned after this much time that there have been no sightings or reports made in regards to Colton. He said several had called in thinking they saw Colton and it turned out to be Homer. He said the truck that was reported to have been on the Clarks property never was actually on their property, but rather a few miles away and that they feel they have questioned the man who owns that truck after another party reported seeing a similar truck with a boy in it. It turned out t be a grandfather who was dropping his (much younger than Colton) grandson at daycare and that the boy did not even bare a resemblance to Colton.

Lastly, he said there were other areas in which he would consider Rebecca to have been less than cooperative but did not elaborate. He also mentioned that Mr. Clark is able to go out and about so he is not homebound, although he did sustain debilitating injuries which have impaired him.

For the most part, this is all I was able to learn from talking with LE. I tried to think of as many questions as I could think of to ask. If there are any other questions you would like me to ask, let me know and I will be happy to do so.

One thing I did want to clarify, when she said that Austin/Homer had not been interviewed, it is meaning that since he has been in the custody of DHS. He was interviewed initially at least once by the Sheriff’s Dept. and/or OSBI and had not provided any new information into the disappearance of Colton.

I would like to urge all again, anyone that may know any information, no matter how small to contact the Seminole Sheriff’s Department (1-405-257-5445) or (1-405-382-9340).
