Amber Alert – 3yr Old Loic “Tank” Rogers – Kalispell, Montana
Posted by KindraLore on January 27, 2007
An Amber Alert has been issued for a three-year-old boy missing from near Kalispell, Montana. More than 100 people are searching for the boy, missing since 6:45 last night in the Kalispell suburb of Evergreen.
The child’s father said he had put Loic in his carseat in the car, and went to retreive Loic’s sister. When he returned with the other child a minute to a minute and a half later, Loic was gone.
According to articles I have read, both the mother and father have admitted to problems and fighting over custody of the children. However, neither of them suspected the other one of taking little Loic.
When last seen, Loic was wearing a red, white and blue coat, blue jeans, a long-sleeved T-shirt, tan leather boots and a multi-colored beanie hat.
Loic “Tank” Rogers is 3 feet tall and has blond hair and blue eyes.
More than 200 people, mostly volunteers, were helping search for the boy. The FBI has now been called in to the case.

Originally I stated that Loic was taken from his carseat. According to the quoted article below that is not true. He had not yet gotten into the car. He was just standing outside:
Volunteers expanded the area they were searching Friday, said Flathead Search and Rescue leader Jordan White.Loic J.M. Rogers was reported missing Wednesday night. His father said he took the boy out and told him to get in the car at 7 p.m. Wednesday and went back into the house to get Loic’s little sister.
“When (the father) went back inside, the boy had not yet gotten into the car. And we don’t think he did,” Meehan said.
The father “said he was inside only for a minute,” Meehan said. When he came back outside, the boy was gone. The father said he searched for about 20 minutes before calling law enforcement.
An Amber Alert was issued Thursday.
“We don’t have a lot of leads, but we feel pretty strongly that there probably is foul play involved,” Meehan said. “That is based solely on the fact that we haven’t found the boy and we should have, under the conditions in the area we were searching and the number of searches and the number of people searching.”
Meehan said officials are looking into sex offenders in the area, and are also interviewing neighbors of the grandparents’ and family members.
“We hope to get a long ways today,” he said. “We’re doing a lot of interviews, pretty extensive canvassing, knocking on doors. We’re working as hard as we can to wrap this up and get that boy safely home, but we need some breaks.”
