Another Child Lost – William “Ben” Ownby (And small update on Austin / Homer Clark)

Posted by KindraLore on January 11, 2007

Before I start this post I would like to bring you up to date on Colton. There has been no new info that has come to light to me regarding Colton. I have learned of a few tidbits here and there.First off, for all of those including me that thought that Austin/Homer has not been re-interviewed, he has. The problem lies in the fact that unfortunately whatever Austin has told authorities previously has been proven untruthful. I do not know if this means the porno investigation or more recent things such as Colton’s disappearance. All I do know is that because he has been untruthful in the past, it has proven him untrustworthy. Therefore, anything he has told authorities that cannot be verified is a problem.

That said, tonight I would like to focus on a new little boy tonight that has thought to been abducted. William “Ben” Ownsby got off his bus at his stop Monday, just like any other day. The only difference is Ben has not been seen since. This is strange and maybe subconciously why I am drawn to this case (although I worry about all these missing children), but if you look at Colt’s picture and Ben’s, they favor a lot.According to media reports an acquaintance of Ben’s saw a beat up white Nissan truck with a camper shell speeding away. Ben is a straight A student that seems to have no reason to have run away, and at this point it looks like Ben has been abducted.

As soon as I saw this report it disturbed me. I have worried about this child ever since. I find myself sitting at work or watching TV, and wondering where he is now. Is he alive? Is he ok? What unimaginable things does Ben have to endure? Do the police have leads? Can they find him in time or will he become another cold case as Colton’s case has become?

I cannot fathom in anyway, shape or form what his parents must be going through. All these years we protect them. His father was waiting for him on the little dusty dirt driveway of his home. He never showed.

Neighbors reported the same beat up white truck casing the neighborhood all day. This is a small town, country area and people notice things that don’t belong.

So this post is for Ben. I hope and pray LE will find Ben. I pray for his parents and family.

Have you seen Ben Ownsby?

FBI investigating 13-year-old boy’s disappearance after getting off school bus in Missouri

BEAUFORT, Mo. — Searchers fanned out in wooded areas Tuesday looking for a
13-year-old boy who disappeared after stepping off his school bus on Monday. The
FBI is investigating, and officials fear the boy may have been kidnapped.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert for William Ownby, who goes by Ben. A
friend who left the bus with him told authorities that after the two parted, he
saw a small white pickup with a camper shell speeding away from where Ben had
been walking.

Sheriff Gary Toelke said Ben’s parents told authorities it
would be out of character for him to run away. Teachers said Ben is an “A”
student, “the type of student everyone would like to have,” Toelke said. The boy
had a black backpack with him, the sheriff said.

The boy’s father,
William Ownby, said neighbors had spotted the same truck cruising up and down a
county road near his wooded subdivision earlier that day. “We have a tight-knit
community here and when there’s something out of place, people notice,” said
Ownby, who was at home with his family and friends. “The longer this goes on,
the more stressful it gets,” Ownby said.

Beaufort Fire Chief William
Borgmann said searchers were looking for Ben on foot, horseback and ATV in the
hilly area about 60 miles southwest of St. Louis. FBI Special Agent Roland
Corvington said stranger abductions are extremely rare, so it’s likely Ownby at
least met his abductor some time before. Speaking to a pool of television
cameras, Corvington urged the abductor to leave Ownby in a safe place.

“We’re coming after you,” Corvington said.

Timeline Into the Disappearance of Colton Clark

Posted by KindraLore on November 2, 2006

This blog for the time line can change as anything is updated and if I left anything out, please feel free to email at the link provided to the right of the site.

May 2002 Becky’s RN license was “temporarily suspended”. At this same time James Rex Clark “Voluntarily surrendered” his license.

March 2004 Becky’s RN license was “Reinstated with RN Refresher Course Required then Placed on Probation with Conditions -“Restricted””. (This was a couple of months after Colton and Austin were in foster care. (With their Grandparents I believe).

September of 2004 Becky’s RN license status was “License Placed on Suspension with Conditions”. At that point they had the boys.

December 27, 2005 Wildfires plagued the area and the Clarks “lost their home” in the wildfires. They resorted to living in a “Shop Building”.

January 2006 – (According to the Seminole Producer Article dated 4/28/06)

The neighbor who Colt had become close to over the past years died earlier this
year.In January, the boys’ biologi-cal father came to the house, jumped the
fence and, Rebecca said, threatened to have the dogs bite Colt.”He was screaming
and I ran out with the gun,” she said

Other versions of the Monty story were told and can be revisited in the blog “Blimey the Plot Thickens”.

Blimey the Plot Thickens

April 20, 2006

9:00AM Becky was spotted at a local business. The business owner states he HEARD Colton with Becky. He did not SEE Colton. I believe he may have heard Austin instead

1:00PM Ok this is confusing. Colton had a physiatrist appointment at 1:00PM.

(Update – The appointment was in Norman, Oklahoma, which is about 1 1/2 hours from Wewoka, Oklahoma – where the Clarks live. They would of had to leave the home IF they were really planning to go to the appointment – no later than 11:30AM. (BUT according to the Seminole Producer article quoted below, Rex was going to lay down, so it was probably much earlier in where they took their time).

So, if they were getting ready to go and then Becky discovered Colton missing, she would have discovered him missing between 11:00-11:30AM. However, the DHS worker was the one that called LE, and according to online news articles, that appointment was not until 4:00PM. That would have made Colton missing about FIVE hours before police were called).

According to the Seminole Producer Article on 4/28/06:

The day he disappeared, April 20, they were getting ready to go to a counseling session in Norman. After their return, a DHS worker was supposed to come over. Rebecca told the boys to dress in their new summer clothes; Colt complained, wanting to wear his boots.

While she got ready, her husband planned to lie down. When she looked for Colt, he was gone.” The window was up in his bedroom,” Rebecca said. Asked if she thought
he’d gone out there, she said she thought at the time that he was out in the car, ready to go. When he wasn’t, she searched and called for him.

The DHS worker came and they agreed to call the sheriff; a deputy came immediately. They brought dogs and ordered the family to put up their own dogs.” It was then that we found that Colt’s Russian wolf pup was gone,” Rebecca said.
Now, DHS had a 4:00PM appointment with the Clarks. So, if the DHS worker was the one that called the Sheriff’s Department at least THREE critical hours had gone by. (See update above. It was more like FIVE hours)

4:00Pmish-4:00AM Searchers searched to find Colton to no avail.

April 21, 2006 – April 24, 2006 Searchers searched on foot, in helicopters, with dogs, ATVs. Flyers posted. An Amber Alert was not issued as LE was given information that it was thought the boy had ran away. Dogs found no scent of Colton at neither the Clark residence nor anywhere else.

April 25, 2006 Search scaled back. Sheriff’s Department states that there are no new leads.

May 12, 2006 Missing Oklahoma boy may be in Delray Beach

Reports come out stating that an unidentified caller spotted Colton in Delray Beach. This report turns out to be unsubstantiated and in fact the address given did not exist.

May 13, 2006 The adoptive mother, Rebecca Clark, has now refused the Sheriff’s request to submit to a polygraph examination including her twelve-year-old son Homer.

“My husband is on medication, and so is my son (Homer),” Rebecca Clark said.
“They were already interviewed by the FBI and OSBI. My husband went to the
psychiatrist at the VA (Veterans Affairs Department) and has PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), and so do the boys from the trauma of abuse.”

Clark said a volunteer attorney agreed with a psychiatrist who sees her sons and advised them against the polygraph.

“He said it would be a lose-lose situation. The only thing that would be gained
from that is nothing, and it wouldn’t be accurate with my husband and son being
on medication and having PTSD,” Clark said.

May 25, 2006 Texas EquuSearch agrees to come and search for Colton. Neither Rebecca nor Rex Clark showed up to the search site to meet the team. Days later, the Sheriff’s Department contacted the Clarks to see why and they stated that THEY got a tip that Colton was being held in a motel in Dallas.

Meanwhile I wonder if this is the so-called “tip” that they were chasing. Also why did they not let the LE handle tips? What if Texas EquuSearch actually found Colton and they were nowhere to be found?

Tip they chased if infact they did?

BriansPrediction.com

And from the Texas EquuSearch website. (Notice it states “more details to follow”, yet they have never updated it. When I emailed the site that told me that any updates would be available via the website)

Tim Miller and a select team of Texas EquuSearch members arrived in Seminole, OK
late Tuesday night. They were greeted by Special Agent, Gary Perkins of the
OSBI, early Wednesday morning and a search plan was formulated. EquuSearch was
joined by the Seminole Co Sheriff’s Office and worked long into the night. ATVs,
boats with side scan sonar and our aerial drone were deployed. Thursday search
is centered around key spots our drone identified. More details to follow later.

September 26, 2006 According to reports, at 5:30AM Becky takes Rex to the hospital and leaves 12 year old Homer (Austin) Clark alone. Austin runs away. During the week he is spotted at various locations around town. During the week Rebecca runs to and from the hospital and home, knowing Austin has disappeared but fails to call LE.

September 30, 2006

3:30PM Sheriff’s Department go to the Clark’s residence, investigating a break in and burglary of a neighbor’s home. At that time Rebecca Clark reports Austin Clark missing. The Clarks waited FIVE full days to report Austin (Homer) missing and did not do it until the Sheriff’s Department was at their door.

That day Rex Clark was released from the hospital and had been out looking for Austin before the Sheriff’s Department arrived.

8:30PM Austin was located in a near by trailer park. The dogs did pick up a scent of Austin.

To Date: To date Austin (Homer) Clark is currently being held in the care DHS. There is an ongoing investigation. To this date there have been no further sitings of Colton Levi Clark. He is still considered Missing Endangered.

Not Much Coming Out of Seminole

Posted by KindraLore on October 13, 2006

The lead I blogged about previously seems to be a dead end. Not much info coming out of Seminole right now.

I did hear Becky has done some TV interviews and stated that she is glad he was arrested and she has been pushing for Austin to go to jail instead of a juvenile center or another foster family because he “needs to learn his lesson”.

I can’t find anything on the Internet to substantiate that though.

If any of you local people have seen any of this, please feel free to enlighten me.

Right now Austin is on my mind. Hope he is doing ok and is in the hands of loving people.

Homer Clark Currently in Custody of DHS

Posted by KindraLore on October 11, 2006

I am still having a hard time finding out any new information. However, I did call the Seminole Sheriff’s Dept today and I was told that Homer Clark is currently in the custody of DHS. I am assuming then that he is either in a Foster Home or something to that effect.

I did hear rumor of something that may be a break in the case regarding Colton’s whereabouts but have not heard anything else regarding it so I’m not really sure what to think.

Right now it’s a waiting game. I do have Austin (Homer) in my thoughts today as I know he has been through so much.

Seminole Producer Article 10/4/06 – Missing Boy’s Brother Also Disappears

Posted by KindraLore on October 5, 2006

I thought I would get this up since the Seminole Producer newspaper online does not archive their articles. Thanks Saucepan!

Colton and Homer Clark

By TALINA TURNER Staff Writer

Officials searched for Homer Clark Saturday evening after he was reported missing. Homer’s younger brother, Colton Clark, was reported missing in April. Colton remains a missing person.

However, Homer was found in a nearby trailer park within hours of being reported missing, although his adoptive mother had not seen him for five days. Rebecca told the deputies that she had not seen Homer since 5:30 a.m. Tuesday morning when she took James Rex Clark, her husband, to the hospital because he was having heart problems, Craig said. Homer was reported missing Saturday when Seminole County deputies responded to a burglary at a nearby house.

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office began the investigation Saturday around 3:30 p.m. Deputies received a call that a house near the Clark residence was broken into. A cell phone and a gun were taken from the house, according to Sheriff Joe Craig. Rebecca Clark, the adoptive mother of Homer and Colton, then told deputies that Homer had run off.

Craig said the deputies discovered that Homer had been at a neighbor’s house Friday night and had cake and ice cream with them. When he left, he didn’t go home. She thought it looked like Homer had been in and out of the house since Tuesday, but she hadn’t seen him. Craig said he thinks Rebecca was back and forth from the hospital and her residence.

James returned from the hospital by at least Saturday. “I know he had been out looking for him Saturday afternoon,” Craig said. Craig said they were calling a group together to search for Homer. The sheriff said there were signs he was staying in a neighbor’s barn.

A dog handler searched near Hidden Village and got a track on Homer. Around 8:30 p.m., someone had called and said they saw Homer in one of the trailers, Craig said. Homer was picked up and taken to the Sheriff’s Office and later placed in DHS custody.

According to radio traffic, Homer was placed in leg irons when he was picked up. Craig said it was to prevent him from running again, if that was his intention. The sheriff expects the incident to undergo an investigation. “I think DHS has some concerns about (Homer running off) and will conduct an investigation,” said Craig.

The sheriff isn’t sure if the District Attorney will file charges against Homer for the burglary. “That’ll be taken care of in the juvenile system,” he said. The Sheriff’s Office is waiting for DHS and the DA’s Office to conduct an investigation before further action is taken.

Colton, however, is still missing. “We still don’t have any evidence other than to keep looking for him as a missing person,” Craig said about Colton.

According to district court records, James Rex Clark was charged in 2005 for misdemeanor assault and battery. He received a deferred sentence and was ordered to pay fines.

Déjà Vu – Homer Clark (Brother of Colton Clark) Reported Missing Saturday

Posted by KindraLore on October 3, 2006

On Saturday, September 30, 2006, Homer (Austin) Clark – Colton Clark’s older brother was reported missing. The amazing thing is that according to local news reports, this child actually went missing Tuesday, September 26, 2006 but Becky and Rex Clark failed to report his disappearance until a full four days later.

He is currently being held in protective custody at the Seminole County jail for burglary. This child is 12 years old.

I cannot find any news articles at this time on the internet regarding this breaking news, however I have confirmed it with law enforcement to be true.
