Alabama Girl Missing in Knoxville – Where is Jennifer Lee Hampton?

Posted by KindraLore on September 23, 2008

On Tuesday, September 16th, Jennifer Hampton along with other co-workers of the Mama Blue’s restaurant arrived in Knoxville, TN from Florence, Alabama. The 21-year-old employee was there to help train employees for the opening of Mama Blue’s in Knoxville and was staying at the local Days Inn. Friday, September 16th was the last anyone heard or saw Jennifer.

On Friday an employee of the Days Inn saw Hampton around 9:30PM. Jim Lewis, who operates Mama Blue’s and was one of the training team for the new location received a text from Jennifer at 10:39PM.

On Saturday morning, when Jennifer did not show up in the Days Inn parking lot to meet up with her co-workers as they had done the previous mornings since they arrived in Knoxville, her co-workers ask the front desk to check her room. No one was in the room, but according to reports it looked as if it had been slept in. That is personally a vague statement to me because I wonder what was meant by that. I have traveled on business before and I know that after long days work, if you staying in a hotel or motel room, you may pull back the covers of the bedding and lie down and watch some TV and chill.

At any rate, Jennifer disappeared some time between 10:39PM on Friday night and Saturday morning when her co-workers convened in the parking lot of days in. Authorities state that Jennifer’s cell phone and purse were located in the room. Authorities suspect foul play but decline to say why they have arrived at this belief. According to those that knew Jennifer, this is very unlike her and they also state she would not have left her purse and phone in the room had she had plans to go anywhere.

Searchers are currently doing grid searches and concentrating on an area on Lovell Road up to a Shopping Center where there is a wetland area. Knoxville Police are currently working with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and have not ruled out kidnapping.

Mama Blue’s has posted a $5,000 reward for information leading to Jennifer Hampton’s whereabouts.

Jennifer Lee Hampton is 5ft 3in tall and weighs 110ibs. She has brown hair and brown eyes. If you notice the photos on her myspace, she looks younger than 21-years-old in my opinion. (Just a note, it does show her log on date as today but you can rest assured that its either authorities or the family searching for any clues).

Anyone with information is asked to call local authorities or Knoxville police at (865) 215-7014.

Are Protesters Hurting the Caylee Anthony Case?

Posted by KindraLore on September 22, 2008

Caylee Anthony

Usually I stay away from high profile cases on the site because this site is about missing people and usually I tend to lean towards those that the media misses. There are so many out there and to this date I am sure that the Caylee Anthony Case is along the lines of the Madeline McCann case as far as its familiarity with the public . It has grown a life of its own and needs no press. In fact, according to the Orlando Sentinel, little Caylee’s case has outdone the infamous and unsolved JonBenet Ramsey case as far as postings on well known sleuthing sites like Websleuths.

Now I am sure that anyone reading this article knows the facts of the case and that little Caylee’s mom Casey Anthony reported her daughter missing around a month after last being seen by anyone. Casey has told a web of lies and LE states that according to their initial forensic reports, a dead body was in fact in the car Casey was driving at the time of little Caylee’s disappearance, along with a large amount of chloroform.

Anyone with common sense can deduce that lots of lies+chloroform+body in trunk = little Caylee is no longer with us. I am one of those people with this sort of common sense. I am also of the opinion that yes, whether accident or intentional, Casey Anthony killed little Caylee.

Now to my point. When the protesters first started showing up at the Anthony home, I must admit that I was one that said “yes, she needs to know that people do not believe her! Tell the truth!” Since then it has turned into a maddening sight, with people making make shift tombstones in front of the home, fighting with the neighbors that live there, throwing rocks at the home. Continuously taunting not only the Anthonys but neighbors alike. The media stands outside the house 24/7 and in my belief, attracting all nutcases within a 50 mile radius to come out and take part.

Twice an Orange Circuit Court Judge Reginald Whitehead denied a request by the Chickasaw Oaks Phase Three Homeowners Association to keep both protesters and the media confined to an area near the back entrance of the subdivision. In making his ruling, Whitehead said the association did not follow Florida law, which requires them to give notice to the protesters.

Obviously I am not alone in my feelings here because I am sure there are many people that believe that Casey Anthony is absolutely a liar and guilty for the disappearance of her daughter. But we live in America. We do not stone people nor burn them at the stake. The Guardian Angels stepped in Saturday to keep peace. Its time for Orange County to step in and STOP this circus. Let justice take its course! If Casey is guilty, let her face a jury of her peers. The neighbors living in this neighborhood do NOT deserve this.

Do me a favor. Go to youtube and type in Caylee Anthony protesters. You will be disturbed. Imagine living in this neighborhood.

Imagine being the child of one of these people claiming to do this in Caylee’s interest. Look at this video. This mom and Cindy get into an altercation. The dad pushes her right into the back car door and squashes the child between. This child should not even be a part of such a calamity. Then see how they react. One lady thats obviously with mom and dad pulls the child on the ground and lets him go. She never checks on him or even looks at him. Then the father picks the child up and basically throws him in the vehicle. These parents CARE about kids?

Come on Orange County. Put a stop to this circus. Media, go home! Crazy people, go home! Let justice take its course.

Searching for Alayna

Posted by KindraLore on January 5, 2008

Alayna Rinebold

Update 2/23/08 11:35AM

According to reports Alayna came out of hiding and called her mom a couple of weeks ago. In a thirteen minute phone conversation, Alayna assured her mother that she was ok, was not doing drugs or partying, but that she isn’t coming home anytime soon. Complete details here.

Original Blog

Tuesday, November 27th started just like any other day. Alayna Rinebold who had just recently turned 15 the month before, headed to school where she was a freshman in Fremont, Ohio. Alayna’s friends say she spoke with a 29-year-old man on her cell phone twice that day and before the day was over, her mother received an odd call from Alayna in which she sounded distressed. She told her mother that she would not be coming home. That was the last confirmed contact from Alayna Rinebold.

Authorities have since learned that the 29-year-old man that she was conversing with is a registered sex offender involving minors, and authorities have reason to believe he may have something to do with Alayna’s disappearance.

In December one of Alayna’s friends received a message from Alayna’s myspace account. Mindy said that her given name is Melinda and that is what Alayna always called her. However, in the myspace message she was called Mindy. She said that the message also said, “she won’t be home for awhile,” instead of saying “I won’t be home for awhile.”

Alayna’s friends and family are desperately worried about her. Leigh Ann Jackson, Alayna’s mother said, “I try not to think about the most horrible scenario but all things are going through my mind right now.” Alayna’s 5-year-old sister said, “I miss her very much and I really want her to come home and I very miss her so much.”

Fremont Police say they’ve searched several homes but haven’t found her.

Alayna Rinebold

Alayna Lynn Rinebold is a white female, 15-years-old with blue eyes and light brown hair. She is 5ft 5 in tall and 150lbs. Her ears and navel are pierced. There is a reward. If anyone has information on the whereabouts of Alayna, they are urged to contact the Fremont Police Department at (419) 307-2289 or (419) 552-2143.

21-Years Later, There May Finally Be Justice for Cindy Zarzycki

Posted by KindraLore on January 4, 2008

Cindy Zarzycki

UPDATE 6/19/08 8:6PM

In the eleventh hour Arthur Ream offered the prosecutors a deal: He would lead them to Cindy Jo’s body in exchange for a guilty plea with a shortened sentence. Cindy’s family agreed but that deal never took place. Prosecutors surmised that maybe it was a ploy to buy time because if in fact had lead them to a body, the trial would have been delayed pending DNA testing. That never took place and today Arthur Ream who was being held on a rape conviction and is a convicted child molester, was found guilty of first-degree murder.

Cindy Jo’s family found the verdict bitter sweet because while justice was served, the family had to finally come to terms once and for all that she was murdered after years of hoping she would be found alive.

Click here for full news story

Original Blog

In April of 1986 Cynthia Jocelyn Zarzycki, (better known as Cindy Jo to her friends and family) was a 13-year-old sandy haired girl living in Eastpointe, Michigan. Sandy Jo loved playing softball and had even won a trophy for most valuable player on her team. Her parents were divorced and she lived with her father, brother and sister in Eastern Detroit and still saw her mother frequently.

Cindy Jo was dating a boy named Scott Ream at the time who later died in a car accident in the 1990’s, well after Cindy Jo’s disappearance. Scott was never a suspect in Cindy Jo’s disappearance, however his father Arthur Nelson Ream is finally facing murder charges in the murder of Cindy Zarzycki twenty-one years later.

Arthur Nelson Ream

According to authorities, Arthur Ream kept a missing person flyer regarding Cindy’s disappearance in a keepsake box. This intrigued investigators, coupled with the fact that Ream was serving a 15-year sentence for third-degree criminal sexual conduct in the assault of a 14-year-old girl. He also was convicted in 1975 of taking indecent liberties with a child. He was due to be paroled December 27th but will instead is expected to be arraigned January 9th on one count each of first- and second-degree murder in Macomb County in Eastpointe’s 38th District Court.

Although authorities suspected Ream in Cindy Jo’s disappearance, they had no evidence linking him until recently. A friend of Cindy Jo’s told detectives that Cindy had planned to meet Ream at the Diary Queen the morning of her disappearance. According to Cindy, Ream was going to take her to a surprise birthday party for his son Scott. Authorities learned that no such party had ever taken place.

A car like Ream’s was spotted at the same Dairy Queen around the time he was to allegedly meet Cindy Jo. Witnesses put her at the Dairy Queen shortly before her disappearance eating an ice cream cone.

Authorities concede that their case is largely circumstantial and Cindy’s body has never been recovered. “There’s no DNA in this case,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith. “There’s no smoking gun.”

The family of Cindy Zarzycki may finally have some closure. “Sometimes you tend to feel lost and forgotten,” her father, Ed Zarzycki said. “It just gives you hope that no one forgot, that someone cares enough to bring it back.”

Unlikely Jewel

Posted by KindraLore on January 3, 2008

Jewel Strong

On Memorial Weekend 2006, little three-year-old Jewel Strong was visiting her grandparents in Panama City, Florida while her parents Racharel and Simona Strong where back home in Jonesboro, Georgia.

Jewel and her eighteen-year-old cousin were on a float in St. Andrews State Park when they drifted beyond the bounds of the park’s “kiddie pool” area and into an adjacent jetty channel with strong currents. The float overturned and Jewel’s cousin had to be rescued and rushed to the hospital.

A search ensued for little Jewel Strong but after a week of searching the Panama City Beach, authorities determined that she drowned. Since there was no proof, no body, no evidence that Jewel had drowned, the Strong’s continued searching for answers to what happened to their little girl.

Simona Strong stated that she and her family started to receive reports from many people that Jewel had been sighted in the company of three black women. In March 2007 someone contacted the Strong family and said that they had seen Jewel at the Golden Coral in Jacksonville, Florida in the company of three black women.

The family obtained the surveillance video and was given new hope that their daughter may still be alive.

“Clear as day. We just knew it was her, just to see her moving about for seven minutes we were sure,” said Simona Strong.

Then in August the Strong family got another lead. Jewel had reportedly been spotted in a Walgreens in Orlando. Once again the surveillance tapes were reviewed and it showed a little girl and a woman walking in and paying at the counter. Ironically, it seems that the woman may have been one of the three women on the surveillance video from the Golden Coral in Jacksonville.

Since the two alleged sightings of Jewel Strong who would now be four-years-old, the family has moved from Atlanta to Jacksonville in hopes of finding their daughter alive.

In September of 2007 Sheriff Frank McKeithen said at a press conference that the security video of a girl from an Orlando Walgreens was not 3-year-old Jewel Strong. He maintained that leads were followed up to secure the credit card transaction information of the lady in the Walgreens and concluded that the little girl with her was not Jewel.

The family has a birth certificate and other “documentation” to prove the girl shown is theirs and not Jewel, McKeithen said.

As far as the video of the little girl purported to be Jewel at the Golden Coral in Jacksonville, the Sheriff says, “You can’t say it’s her and you can’t say it’s not her.”

The Strongs maintain that they think Jewel was abducted during a chaotic situation and have a website set up to receive tips about their daughter. Although the sightings are unlikely Jewel, the Strong family will not give up hope until they know what happened to their daughter.

Click here for complete news story and video

My thoughts and prayers are with Cayle’s family and friends.

Update 1/7/08 7:43PM

Go to Cayle’s website and see the latest news. Looks like someone actually captured her in a random picture taken the day she disappeared.

Update 1/6/08 9:08PM

There is a new website devoted to finding Cayle Bywater. Please go here.

Update 1/5/08 4:12PM

See video here for latest update. Also interesting is the Topix forum comments on this story. Some first hand accounts and updates are available there.

Update 1/4/08 10:39AM

A search for Cayle Bywater yesterday turned up no clues as to where the young UGA student may be. Volunteers and rescue workers spent hours searching sections of south Athens yesterday as well as the 90-acre Gran Ellen Drive park due to the fact someone called a tip in stating they had spotted Cayle on Saturday in the park and she seemed disoriented.

No organized searches were scheduled for today although rescue workers may dredge a pond in Memorial Park and are arranging for search dogs to be brought in.

Police believe Cayle may have stopped taking her medication and her sister, Tiffiny Cohen thinks that Cayle’s dog may have gotten loose and Cayle could have went after the dog and became injured.

Saturday, December 29th was the last time anyone saw 29-year-old UGA Student Cayle Bywater. A neighbor saw her outside her home at 2004 South Milledge Ave. Between that time and the following day, Cayle disappeared.

A friend and co-worker became concerned when she went to the house and found Cayle’s cell phone and purse atop her car which was parked in her driveway. Cayle’s basement door was wide open and her dog was running lose.

The strange part is that authorities have stated that they do not believe foul play was involved, siting that Cayle suffers from bipolar disorder and may have wondered off. Uh, ok. I have a sister that is bipolar. The disorder certainly doesn’t make you just leave your house wide open, your dog running the neighborhood and your purse atop your car so that you can walk off into oblivion. That topped with the fact that its been five days with no eye witness reports or sightings of Cayle is definitely cause for concern.

“I’m very concerned, and I just don’t know what to say except we are really worried about her,” said Katie Sims, a friend of Cayles who works with her at Aromas wine bar in Five Points.

Man Wanted on Sex Charges on the Run with 13-year-old Niece

Savannah and Justin Haggerman

Update 12/20/07 6:44PM

Savannah and Justin Haggerman were located, thanks to a very aware homeless person living in a Southern California park. The pair were more than 1600 miles away from home when the police department in Pomona, CA received a call Wednesday from a park employee who had been approached by a homeless person expressing concern about a young teen living at the park with her uncle.

Haggerman has been arrested on outstanding warrants and is being held without bail in California, pending extradition to Missouri. Savannah was placed by the California Department of Child Services into custody and authorities in Missouri have been notified.

Someone claiming to be Savannah left a comment here that stated:

first off he did not kidnap me. and he is no where near a dangerous person. he got frost bite to keep me warm, and he spoiled me like crazy. none of u have any clue what we had. maybe every1 should just mind their own business. i look at it like this. if he is who i love and who i want to be with i should not be treated like crap because no one approves because they think its wrong.

My heart really goes out to Savannah as I bring myself back to being her age and how hard it was and how amplified my feelings were about everything. I hope the best for her.

News Article

Original Blog

Tuesday, December 11th, 13-year-old Savannah Haggerman was reported missing by her mother. Authorities believe that she is currently in the company of her 21-year-old uncle Justin Haggerman. Justin is currently on parole in Missouri for burglary and assault convictions and today authorities added charges of statutory rape and sex with a minor under the age of 14. Although it’s believed that Savannah left of her own accord, police consider Justin violent and believe she may be in danger.

According to Justin’s grandmother Evelyn Haggerman, the two have been talking for awhile and Savannah asked Justin to come get her. Ms. Haggerman maintains that she does not know where the two are. However, according to friends it is believed the pair may have headed to Iowa or Ohio.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol along with the Benton County Sheriff’s Office have been searching for Savannah and Justin and today issued an endangered person alert. Authorities in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio have also been alerted.

According to reports, Savannah’s father is currently in jail.

I found Justin’s myspace here and this is what he lists on his “about me” portion of the site:

My name is Justin and there’s not much to say about myself. I enjoy peace and quiet, but I know how to have fun. I’m just an average guy trying to make it in a insane world filled with egotistical assholes….lol. Anyways, send me a message if you are bored and I’ll say hi….other than that….I’m done…lol

His nick is “Dweller in the Pit Of Darkness” and his mood was set at devious. The day before he and Savannah disappeared, December 10th was the last time he logged in. He only seems to have one friend, a 15 year old female.

The female friend’s profile seems to be Savannah herself because when I do a search of her name, her profile shows up. Her nick is ^*drive^me^crazy*^ and her caption says, “fuk all the haterz, the playerz, and fakes. i hope u die!” Her profile is set to private so I cannot view it in its entirety. She also seems to have two other profiles as well, here and here, showing a picture of her flipping off the camera. One is set to private and shows her mood as depressed, the other is pretty much blank with Myspace’s Tom showing as her only friend.

Authorities believe Justin Haggerman is driving a light blue 1989 Ford Tempo with Missouri plate.

Savannah Haggerman is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 140lbs. She has strawberry blond hair and blue eyes.

Justin Haggerman is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 135lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone seeing the missing person, suspect, associate or vehicle, or anyone having any information related to the endangered missing person should immediately dial 911 to contact the nearest law enforcement agency or call the Benton County Sheriff’s Dept. at 660-438-5252.

Brittnee Plant is Still Missing

Brittnee Plant

UPDATE 12/6/07 8:04PM

Good news on this case. Brittnee Plant was found at the Mexican border. Details are still sketchy as to who she was with and if she left on her own accord.

Original Blog

On November 20th, two days before Thanksgiving, Brittnee Plant’s father went to his daughter’s bedroom in their Mesa, Arizona home only to find her missing. Since then, 13 year old Brittnee Platt has phoned home a total of three times. Each phone call was very brief, with her father taking two of them and her mother one.

Lesa Stephens, Brittnee’s mom said she heard her daughter briefly on the other end of the phone, “Hey, Mom, I’m calling to say I love you guys”. Lesa explained that she thought someone unexpectedly entered the room and Brittnee ended the call. Its been over a week since they have received any phone call or word at all.

Police believe Brittnee may be in the company of a 19 year old man by the name of Chris that she met a mall. Lesa Stephens said Chris is homeless and has tried to lure her daughter away before.

Her parents maintain that Brittnee was a normal teenager and this is out of character for her. “She’s a good girl, and I know that she would continue to call or at least let us know she was OK.”, said Lesa. “We just miss her, and we really need her home.”

Brittnee Plant 2

A recent alleged sighting of Brittnee about a week ago at a Circle K near Broadway and Extension roads gave the family some hope. They have passed out hundreds of flyers and hope with each passing day that this will be the day their daughter returns. At this point police have very little to go on.

Brittnee Plant 3

Brittnee is 5 ft 1 in tall, 110lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black shirt and blue jeans with writing all over, black and red shoes, and a necklace with a heart pendant.

Anyone with information on Brittnee Plant is urged to contact Mesa police.

21 Years Later – Jessie Gutierrez’s Story Comes to Life Again

Posted by KindraLore on December 4, 2007

Jessica Suzanne Gutierrez

Jessie Gutierrez – 4 Years Old

On the evening of June 6, 1986 little four-year-old Jessica Suzanne Gutierrez was tucked safely in her bed sleeping in her home in Lexington, South Carolina in a bedroom she shared with her two sisters.

Sometime during the hours of 11:30PM and 9:00AM the following morning, an unknown intruder entered the Gutierrez home through a living room window. Jessie’s sister, six-year-old Rebecca who was sleeping right beside her, awoke to the sight of a man bent over their bed.

Jessica Suzanne Gutierrez Age Progressed

Jessie Gutierrez – Age Progressed 21 years

In a recent article she said that scene still haunts her 21 years later. “That man standing over our bed and him bending over to pick Jessie up. I see his face every night before I go to bed.”

Rebecca said her sister Jessie never woke up as the man carried her out of their bedroom. Terrified, the little girl did not tell her parents, but instead pulled a blanket over her head, scared to move. To this day Rebecca regrets that understandable decision that a six-year-old petrified child made.

The next day the child described the man that took her sister as “a man with a magic hat.”

All of these years Gutierrez’s mother Debbie has suspected an unnamed family friend as having taken her daughter. Debbie found fibers in an abandoned car that belonged to this family friend that she states were linked to her daughter.

The unnamed suspect has served time in prison in North Carolina for rape, and in 1987 told his cell mate that he kidnapped Jessie.

Sheriff James Metts says they’ve felt like they’ve had a case since the beginning against the family friend but still twenty-one years later there have been no arrests. “That’s what’s frustrating about the case. We’ve felt we knew who it was pretty much a day or two into that case, but we’ve been not able to convince the solicitor that we need to move forward as far as prosecution in concerned.”

Sheriff James Metts

Sheriff James Metts

Solicitor Donnie Meyers stated that “we have some evidence at the FBI as we speak that we hope may turn up something on this case, that will give us some additional probable cause that might enlighten the solicitor to move forward with the prosecution in this particular case.”

Solicitor Donnie Meyers

Solicitor Donnie Meyers

Meyers also went on to explain that twenty-one years ago “most of the evidence was inadmissible. The little bit of evidence they had there was an explanation for.”

With no body Meyers states that there needs to be “a mountain of evidence” in order to move forward.

As far as new evidence that Sheriff Metts spoke of, Meyers said “If an investigation is going on, I don’t know anything about it.”

Jessie’s family however hopes that finally they will move forward. “We want them to follow through with what they should have been doing back in 1986. We want justice, closure. This is something we’ll have to live with all of our life, but it would be a little easier knowing the person who did this goes to jail and pays for what he’s done to my sister, our family,” stated Rebecca.
