If it Walks Like a Duck, Quacks Like a Duck.. Jack McClellan

Jack McClellanJack McClellanJack McClellan

I have blogged previously here and here about self proclaimed pedophile Jack McClellan. Since then Jack has been arrested for violating a restraining order by standing outside of a daycare (where the oldest child was three years of age) taking pictures. Attorney Anthony Zinnanti fought and won a temporary restraining order prohibiting McClellan from contact with ANY minors in the state of California hereby forcing McClellan to leave Santa Clarita and move to Portland, Oregon.

However, once there Jack did not receive an open armed welcome and Portland’s transit police made sure Jack was not riding TriMet after openly proclaiming the transit system to be a good place to watch little girls.

McClellan admitted to riding TriMet for long stretches to stay warm, which is in violation of transit system rules. As a result, McClellan was banned from riding for 60 days.

According to unconfirmed reports Jack the pedophile has hightailed it back to California.

It seems that police are also interested in the unsolved murder of a 10 year old Lakewood Washington girl, Adre’anna Jackson.

Adre'anna Jackson

According to Crime Library, on McClellan’s now-defunct pedophile web site, “Seattle-Tacoma-Everett Girl Love” McClellan provided a link to a news story on the death of Adre’anna Jackson and also listed area where she disappeared in a portion of his site labeled “Seattle-Vancouver Street Prostitution Guide.” He has professed attraction to a child actress who looks similar to Jackson and left his home state of Washington after the start of a billboard campaign to find the killer.

In the meantime, Anthony Zinnanti, the attorney that won the restraining order against McClellan and attorney for Ron Tebo (creator of anti-Jack website) has stated he and Tebo have backed off the campaign against McClelland after receiving anonymous threats against their families, and both having their children’s pictures put on pedophile sites.
Tebo’s anti-Jack site has been taking down for the most part with exclusion of a picture of McClellan and a message that states:

“If you have any information that is relevant to Jack McClellan please contact your local law enforcement agency or local FBI office!”

In the last month or so, after fighting with pro-Jack Web designers to have a photo of his son removed from the Internet, Tebo has been forced to withdraw from the feud, regroup and rethink his tactics.

“I’m just trying to stay away from all of this right now,” he said, during a phone interview at his home in New York. “It’s tiring, time-consuming and exhausting.”

Zinnanti has reportedly lost his law office and most of his business revenue. “This whole case has so severely impacted my life that I had to leave my office,” Zinannti said Friday. “I lost my law office and the money I once received is gone. I’ve lost 70 percent of my income.

“This whole thing has just destroyed my practice.”

Waiting on Justice for Juny

Posted by KindraLore on November 16, 2007

Mark Dean Schwab

If there is a “poster boy” for the death penalty it would be Mark Dean Schwab. He is the monster in our closet. He is the example of how pedophiles pray on our children. Groom them, gain their trust and the trust of their parents. And then brutally rape them; physically, mentally and spiritually.

Mark Dean Schwab first sexually assaulted a young boy in the fall of 1986 when Schwab was 17 years old. His second assault was on a 13 year old boy in 1987 at knife point. The boy reported the incident and Schwab confessed and plead guilty to sexual battery. That crime was punishable by a term of imprisonment for life or by a term of imprisonment not exceeding 40 years. He was sentenced to only 8 and served FOUR.

In early March of 1991 Schwab was released from prison. Back into society and amongst our children once again.

Junny Rios-Martinez, Jr.

Junny Rios-Martinez, Jr. was an 11 year old boy who was 5 feet tall and weighed 76lbs. Juny had won a kite-flying contest in which the local paper ran a small story and a picture of him. The day after the article ran in the newspaper Mark Dean Schwab called and stated that his name was Malcom Denemark and that he was from the newspaper.

Schwab told Mrs. Rios-Martinez that he had seen Junny’s picture in the paper and wanted to interview Junny for another article. And so began the grooming of the boy and his family.

Over the next few weeks Schwab came to the home of Junny, pretending to interview him and his family. Carrying a spiral notebook and jotting down things that were said. Eventually he learned that Junny was into surfing and told the family that he had taken another position with a surfing magazine.

He told them that the magazine wanted to do a photo shoot and that he would like to help Junny get sponsored by one of his many contacts that he had with surfing companies. Eventually the family was told Junny had a sponsor. Schwab even brought Junny a t-shirt with the company’s logo on it. He told Junny that he could have whatever surfboard he wanted and that he could even design it himself.

Over the next several days Schwab continued to visit the family, laying out lies of future plans with the company, delivering useless documents and contracts from the surfing company. He told the family that he would like to take Junny to Daytona Beach to meet with the company. The family agreed.

Schwab told Mrs. Rios-Martinez that he would pick Junny up at 10:00AM on Sunday, April 18, 1991. However, that morning he called and canceled the trip.

A week later on Thursday, April 18, 1991 Schwab called Junny’s school and told the bookkeeper he was Junny’s father and that Junny should meet him at the ball field instead of going home on the bus that day. Believing the man was Junny’s father, she contacted Junny’s classroom and had him come to the office and gave him the message.

After school one of Junny’s friends walked with him to the ball field. Junny had a baseball game later that evening so maybe Junny didn’t question it in his mind too much that he would be meeting his father there. Junny’s playmate later described seeing Junny jump the fence onto the field and “some tall guy” getting out of a U-Haul truck. That was the last time anyone besides Schwab saw Junny alive.

Junny’s game stated at 6:30PM that evening and Juny’s mom went to the ball field straight from work. Her husband was there but there was no sign of Juny. Mrs. Rios-Martinez tried calling Schwab at the number he had given her but was unable to reach him. Later that evening Juny was reported missing.

On April 19, Schwab learned from his mother that the police wanted to question him about a missing child. Schwab called his mother back and short time later and told her he was going to see his probation officer, however he never showed.Instead on April 20 he called his Aunt from Port Washington, Ohio – nearly a thousand miles away from Cocoa, Florida where he resided. Schwab concocted a far fetched story of a man named “Donald” and being forced to rape Juny at the direction of “Donald”. Police arrested Schwab the next day by tracing a call he was making while standing at a phone booth.

Junny Rios-Martinez, Jr.’s little body was found in a footlocker in a drainage ditch. He had been deceased for 5 days. When the footlocker was examined and the lid cut open, there lay Juny naked, in a semi-fetal position.

An autopsy determined that Junny died from “mechanical asphyxia”, probably smothering or strangulation. One of the wadded up pieces of duct tape had Schwab’s finger print on it.

Schwab retold the story of a man named Donald forcing him to rape Juny and that he left Junny with Donald. Schwab actually sent a letter during his trial to the public defender’s office claiming to be “Doug” (I guess Schwab had forgotten his phantom abductor’s name) and that he was the one that killed Junny. He threatened to kidnap and kill one of Juny’s younger brothers because Schwab had spilled the beans on him.

Not surprisingly, Schwab’s fingerprints were found on the letter.

On July 1, 1992, he was sentenced to death for the murder, and two life sentences for the kidnapping and sexual battery of a child under the age of 13 in the case of 11 year old Junny Rios-Martinez, Jr.. In addition, his probation was revoked on the previous rape conviction, and he was re-sentenced to an additional life sentence, giving him a total of three life sentences.

The case led to the passage of the “Junny Rios-Martinez, Jr., Act of 1992”, which prohibited those convicted of sexual battery from receiving early release in the state of Florida.

Yesterday this predator was scheduled to have been put to death in the state of Florida by means of lethal injection. Unfortunately the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Thursday afternoon to delay the execution of Mark Dean Schwab indefinitely.

Officials said another death warrant is not expected until next year or the summer of 2008 at the earliest.

“We know anything can happen,” the victim’s father, Junny Rios Martinez Sr., said.
The victim’s parents headed to the prison in Starke on Thursday morning, where they had planned to witness the execution.”I believe that this pervert, somewhere in that empty space between the two ears, that he really believes that he’s going to walk away from this,” the victim’s father said.

Execution procedures were carried out as normal on Thursday morning before the decision came down to postpone the execution. Vans brought in witnesses and officers stood by to watch over protesters — both for and against. Word spread of the stay and no protestors showed up outside the Florida State Prison.Schwab requested a breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns and chocolate milk for his last meal, but decided not to eat it when he was told he would his execution was postponed.

After years of waiting and pushing new laws to protect children, the parents of Junny Rios Martinez announced they are satisfied with what they’ve accomplished. The family has backed laws making it harder to get children excused during the school day, and requiring sex offenders and predators to register with the state.

“It’s time to move on. Our son made a difference. He life was not in vain,” the victim’s mother, Vicki Martinez said.

The family said it would be celebrating Junny’s life on Saturday — whether Schwab was executed or not — at the park that was named for Junny in Cocoa. The family said it is their time for closure and to no longer be victims. They said they are sure the execution will come someday.

Until then, we are waiting on justice for Juny.

Pedophile Site Shows How to Be a Pedophile – AND IT’S LEGAL

Posted by KindraLore on May 15, 2007

I came across this site because I have been watching a story I blogged about here on Jack McClellan and a New York father that decided to pursue Jack and make sure everyone knows what Jack is about.A Web site created by a pedophile is a virtual “how-to” manual, complete with the best places in western Washington state to see little girls, and tips on how to avoid getting caught by the police.

The site, titled “Seattle-Tacoma-Everett Girl Love,” has been around for a few years. The police know all about it, yet they said they couldn’t shut it down because the site is legal. After the article by Tori Richards on the Court TV site, Crime Library came out, Fox News jumped on the story and interviewed McClellan, providing a face to the anger parents felt over having photos displayed of their children on his site. The pictures were taken by McClellan at public events like parades and festivals. This New York Dad named Ron Tebo put up a website of his own donned http://www.jackmcclellan.com/ . McClellan shut the site down.

However, after McClellan seeked advice on another site called “GirlChat” message board, McClellan is now back with his advice on how pedophiles can lure in that little girl that they are chomping at the bit for. And guess what?? Its all LEGAL.This man, whether he touches a child or not, is provoking others to do so, even telling them how. And it’s all legal.

Are you scared? I am!

Jack McClellan – A Ticking Pedopheliac Time Bomb

Posted by KindraLore on April 27, 2007

I came across this story on Crime Library. Here are snips from it:
ARLINGTON, WA. (Crime Library) During the past few years, Jack McClellan operated in obscurity hosting a pedophile web site until his server shut it down this month after intense media attention.
The site that was a primer for all other liked-minded people with links like “Techniques to enhance the touch and intensify feelings of love,” “Washington law pertaining to prepubescent girls,” and “Other girl-love/pedophile links.”

Now McClellan’s back, but not in a way that he ever could have envisioned. A New York father of two young boys Ron Tebo, upset over McClellan’s self-professed attraction to children, bought the domain name http://www.jackmcclellan.com/ and has launched a web site of his own. It even features a clip of the interview McClellan, 45, did with Fox News.

This site also has a section for messages to where someone by the name of Jack McClellan posted:

“If I’m such a threat to children, then how come I was able to attend a hundred or so family events in the Seattle area over the last 2 years, and was only kicked out of one (and not because I was doing anything illegal, but because they simply felt that I didn’t fit in as an unaccompanied man).

“Like I’ve been saying in the interviews, this pedophile hysteria is way overblown: the vast majority of us with an attraction to children are no more out of control than the typical heterosexual or homosexual attracted to adults. In fact, I’m thinking about starting my own day care (which I can legally do, since I’m not a convicted sex offender) to further illustrate my point, and bringing the website back in the near future (probably without the more provocative pics).”

Kudos to this father for exposing this sick man that preys upon our children. As his banner line reads, “Protect our children from all Jacks”.

Convicted Pedophile Wayne Chapman Seeking Freedom

Posted by KindraLore on March 25, 2007

Update 4/18/07 11:11AM

Convicted Child Rapist held in a treatment facility indefinitely

A Lawrence Superior Court judge ruled today that Wayne Chapman was still sexually dangerous despite serving a 30-year prison term and ordered that the convicted child rapist remain in state custody indefinitely at a sexual abuse treatment facility.

Judge Howard Whitehead followed a provision in state law that allows people still deemed sexually dangerous to be civilly committed at a treatment facility for the rest of their lives. The ruling can be appealed annually.

Convicted pedophile Chapman seeks freedom; Father of missing Lawrence boy objects to releaseBy Jim Patten , Staff Writer
Eagle-Tribune

LAWRENCE – Wayne Chapman was wheeled into a courtroom yesterday looking the furthest thing from being dangerous.Clad in a gray sweater, blue jeans and sneakers, he was pushed in a wheelchair by a burly court officer. His hands shook as he was brought to the defense table.

Chapman, 59, is a convicted pedophile, who, according to testimony, has admitted to sexually assaulting 50 to 100 boys, and even fantasized about killing and cannibalizing a child.

He completed a 30-year sentence in 2004 for raping two Lawrence boys, but has remained in state custody because officials believe, if released, he is likely to reoffend.

But Chapman is now seeking his freedom. He’s pleading his case to a Lawrence Superior Court judge who will determine if he is safe or a “sexually dangerous person” who cannot be released.

Yesterday was the first day of testimony in the case. In the courtroom sat Angelo Puglisi Sr. He is the father of Angelo “Andy” Puglisi, who disappeared from the state swimming pool in South Lawrence 30 years ago at the age of 10.

Police have long suspected Chapman was involved in the boy’s disappearance, but he has never been charged. Angelo Puglisi said yesterday the system will have failed him if Chapman is freed.

“If they let this guy out, the people who made the decision are just as guilty as he is. And they can all rot in hell,” he said.

Testimony heard in the jury-waived trial yesterday was graphic. Dr. Christine Schnier-Pierce, a forensic clinical psychologist, told the court she had interviewed Chapman in 2005, after reviewing all of the records available in the cases he has been involved in.

Schnier-Pierce recited Chapman’s history of pedophilia that he told her began at an early age.

“He said his offending began at an early age, as early as age 7, when he offended with a 5-year-old boy,” Pierce said.

In 1967, he was charged with offenses against a 12-year-old boy in Pennsylvania, while he was living in New York. In that case he walked the boy into the woods. The boy escaped and called police and Chapman was convicted of assault and battery in that case, Pierce said.

His next offense was against a 10-year-old boy, also in Pennsylvania, in 1971, in which he took the boy into the woods, abused him and took nude photos of him. He was convicted in that case, Pierce said.

While living in Rhode Island from July 1974 to June 1975, he was convicted of assault and battery and unnatural acts with a child under 16 from Fall River. He told his 9-year-old victim he was looking for a dog and lured him into a wooded area where the attack took place, Pierce said.

And in August 1975 in Lawrence, Chapman drove off an exit ramp of Interstate 495 and encountered two young boys whom he told he was looking for a dog. He molested both of them in a wooded area and was ultimately convicted of sodomy, open and gross lewdness, indecent assault and battery on a child and assault with intent to rape a child, Pierce said.

It was that offense that landed him the 30-year jail term that he completed in 2004.

Dr. Robin Quinones, a clinical psychologist, also interviewed Chapman. She testified about a 1987 fantasy Chapman admitted to in which he fondled and killed a child and then cannibalized him so no one would know.

The second revelation was a 31/2-hour audiotape Chapman made as a young man in which he talks about watching young boys get off a school bus and his resulting fantasies.

The tape, with sexually graphic language, was found in 1976 in an apartment rented by Chapman, and Pierce said Chapman admitted masturbating to it.

Prosecutor A.J. Camelio played a portion of the tape in court.

Pierce said Chapman was married in his early 20s to a 19-year-old woman but the relationship lasted only six months.

Chapman only married in an attempt to blunt his sexual desire for young boys, Pierce said.

“My opinion is that Mr. Chapman meets the criteria for a sexually dangerous person,” Pierce said.

She said during their interview he admitted to sexually assaulting 50 to 100 boys.

Quinones told the court that Chapman told her during their interview that he had sexual fantasies about young boys as recently as two years ago.

She told the court that in spite of the treatment Chapman had received over the years, it is her opinion that Chapman “is likely to re-offend if he is released.”

“My conclusion is that he is a sexually dangerous person,” Quinones said.

On cross-examination, John Day, lawyer for Chapman, elicited the admission from Pierce that she had not treated a pedophile since her internship and that during her interview with him, Chapman had refused to disclose some aspects of his activities on the advice of counsel.

Under questioning by Day, Pierce agreed there had been no evidence of sexual abuse since September 1976 when Chapman was 28 years old and that most recently, Chapman had backed away from his earlier claim of abusing 50 to 100 boys.

Day also noted that in 1991, a Superior Court judge in Lawrence had ruled Chapman was no longer sexually dangerous.

The trial, which recessed until Monday, is expected to last about three days.

“Under questioning by Day, Pierce agreed there had been no evidence of sexual abuse since September 1976 when Chapman was 28 years old and that most recently, Chapman had backed away from his earlier claim of abusing 50 to 100 boys.”

I would have to say that the reason he has not abused anyone else is because he has been in prison for those 30 years, where he should remain. Let’s hope this sick man stays behind bars and away from children.

What Makes a Boy a Monster?

Posted by KindraLore on January 29, 2007

(Pictured – Michael Devlin on the left, Kevin Underwood on the right)

Who IS Michael J. Devlin? The one who was adopted, along with his siblings when he was just a tot? He came from a normal, all American home. What turns a little boy into a serial kidnapper and pedophile? (I think with the evidence that he had kiddy porn on his computer and the fact that he took two young boys – THAT WE KNOW OF – that I am comfortable to say that YES, he was a pedophile).

They say he was a loner in school. Made fun of at times. We know when we look back to our own pasts how hard those years can be – how escalated every little detail in life seems. How hard it is when you don’t fit in. However, we did not become monsters. So what makes one?

When I see cases like this I am perplexed with this question. The first thing I assume is that this person was abused himself as a child. By all accounts, this wasn’t the case. Michael Devlin had the “perfect parents” and was too young when he was adopted to know if his own biological parents were abusive.

It reminds me of another case of 10-year-old Jamie Rose Bolin. Kevin Ray Underwood, 26 years old, lured little Jamie into his apartment, hit her over the head and killed her. He tried to cut her throat or saw her head off, sexually assaulted little Jamie’s corpse and put her into a Tupperware container and put her into his closet.

Kevin showed no outward signs of this unfolding to anyone. He had no criminal history, just as Michael Devlin had no criminal past as well. Kevin was a loner and so was Devlin. Somehow, neither could seem to fit themselves into the world that was theirs. Awkward in appearance, awkward in a public situation. Kevin Underwood had an online blog to which he frequently talked about his feelings and obsessions with certain girls and even cannibalism.

Although Michael and Kevin are different in many ways, they are so much alike. What makes little boys into Monsters?

They’ve had two weeks to reconsider every detail. They’ve scavenged their memories for any clue, any inkling that Michael J. Devlin was something other than the lonely guy who managed a pizza shop in Kirkwood.

Bad family? Far from it.

Odd behavior? Hardly.

Devlin smoked, but he didn’t drink. He loved video games, such as the fantasy role-player Final Fantasy XI, but that is not unusual for adults these days. He had a temper, but those who have seen it say it came off more cantankerous than malicious. There was no criminal record beyond traffic tickets.

A family ‘as good as gold’

Born in November 1965, Devlin was still an infant when he was adopted by James and Joyce Devlin. His adoptive father was an insurance executive. His mother was a former airline stewardess who eventually taught at the private College School in Webster Groves.

Michael Devlin’s father and mother still live in Webster Groves, a comfortable place just a few miles from where the two missing boys were found.

The parents have two biological daughters. They also adopted four boys.

Three of the four Devlin boys worked for Prosperi at Imo’s. He has known the family for almost three decades.

“That family was as good as gold,” Prosperi said.

The Devlin parents were feted on their 50th wedding anniversary in 2004 in a Valentine’s Day column in the Webster-Kirkwood Times. The article recounted how the couple grew up just outside Philadelphia but didn’t meet until both were in Boston, where they married, before moving to St. Louis for James Devlin’s job.

Joyce Devlin was a Girl Scout leader who was devoted to her children.

“She is a saint,” said Mildred Kent, who raised her four children in Webster Groves and gave piano lessons to some of the Devlin siblings, but not Michael.

For many years, the family attended Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Webster Groves. Brian Devlin, one of the couple’s children, recalls going for Sunday services.

“They put these little suits on us, and you can imagine what suits looked like for kids back in the ’70s — little checkered things and that,” he said.

Brian Devlin, who in a Post-Dispatch profile last week talked about the personal struggles that eventually estranged him from the family, said his parents were good to him and his siblings. He still has fond memories of Christmas celebrations and family vacations on Lake Michigan.

Joyce, he said, is “a really good lady.” James makes “a mean barbecue.” And growing up in Webster Groves, the Devlins did “everything that a normal family would do to keep you right,” Brian Devlin said.

Surviving high school

Michael Devlin was a friendly child who was picked on for being overweight, several former classmates and neighbors said.

“He was teased, and it made him a loner,” said Susan Dames of Ballwin, who grew up a few houses from the Devlin family on Oakwood Avenue.

But Michael Devlin found a place for himself at Imo’s, first in Webster Groves and then in Kirkwood. He began working there in high school.

He graduated from Webster Groves High in 1984. His picture is not featured in the senior yearbook. Some classmates could barely remember him. Others recall a nonthreatening teen who sat on the sidelines of life.

“The guy was just a nice guy, like a big teddy bear,” said Karen Waller, who graduated in the same class.

After high school, Devlin went to work full-time at Imo’s. It was there that he met a bunch of guys who would go on hunting and fishing trips. Prosperi sometimes joined them. They sometimes traveled to Two Branch Island, a remote site requiring a ferry ride to reach, in the Missouri River in St. Charles County.

Devlin also traveled to Woodland Lake Estates, a development tucked in a hilly, wooded area in northwestern Washington County. He and a friend owned a small, vacant parcel in the development.

Washington County Sheriff Kevin Schroeder has said the land served “as a connection” to Shawn’s abduction 25 miles away in Richwoods, perhaps by familiarizing Devlin with the area.

Devlin obtained deer-hunting permits for the firearms seasons in 1996 though 1998, and held annual fishing licenses in 1996, 1997 and 2002, according to the Missouri Conservation Department.

Gus Nanos worked with Devlin in the 1990s and remembers an outgoing man with a quick wit. “Devo” invited co-workers to play video games and poker. Nanos, in a recent Post-Dispatch interview, even recalled Devlin in those years as “nice and thoughtful.”

But Devlin’s limited social circle began to fall apart as he got into his early 30s. His friends had less time to hang out. They had wives and families. Some got new jobs. Devlin stayed with Imo’s, rising to be a manager but still earning less than $21,000 a year. He was always on time. He never asked for a raise.

Prosperi recalls asking Devlin why he didn’t move on.

“He’d say, ‘Mike, I’m a lazy guy.’ And that was it,” Prosperi said.

Diabetes and foot pain

If there is one curious incident in Michael Devlin’s past, it centers on his toes.

In December 2002, Prosperi recalls Devlin complaining at work about his foot. He was limping. He talked about the pain to everybody. At a Devlin family Christmas party, Devlin apparently showed his foot to a family member who was a doctor, and he urged Devlin to go to the hospital immediately, Prosperi said.

Two of Devlin’s toes were gangrenous and had to be amputated, according to Prosperi. He was diagnosed as a diabetic. And he struggled with his weight.

Devlin missed three months of work, from January to March 2003, Prosperi said, a recollection supported by his check of payroll records.

Prosperi said he was told that Devlin was recuperating at his parents’ house, not at the South Holmes Avenue apartment in Kirkwood where he lived since July 2001. He recalls calling Devlin several times to see when he would return, and several times he spoke with Devlin’s mother and Devlin himself.

“Looking back,” Prosperi said, “the question on everybody’s mind is, who was watching Shawn?”

Shawn Hornbeck disappeared on Oct. 6, 2002. He would’ve been kidnapped just a few months before Devlin apparently moved in with his parents for an extended period.

One of Devlin’s brothers, Patrick, told the Post-Dispatch two weeks ago that relatives saw Michael at family gatherings but never knew of Shawn.

In recent years, Nanos recalled, Devlin became a different person: “He went from being such a teaser to a much quieter person. I felt like he had been humbled by all of his health problems. … Years of downing Mountain Dew and smoking menthol cigarettes probably caught up with him.”

Quiet but with a temper

At the South Holmes Avenue apartment complex, neighbors knew Devlin as a man with a temper who kept to himself and who seemed to have a son. A boy who identified himself as Shawn Devlin was seen walking in and out of the one-bedroom apartment, or riding his bike in the neighborhood.

“Nothing about Devlin jumped out at you,” said Krista Jones, who has lived in the complex for six months. “We’d see him walking the courtyard with Shawn and just thought it was father and son.”

Residents recall an incident last year when Devlin got upset because someone was parked in his favored parking spot. Devlin even called the Kirkwood police to settle the argument.

Beyond that, the neighbors seemed to know little about Devlin. They were even less familiar with the boy living in the apartment, knowing him primarily for the loud music he played during the day.

Looking for answers

Prosperi, along with other co-workers of Devlin’s at the pizza shop, have reconsidered even the smallest incidents to see if there was something they missed — such as how Devlin reacted to the frequent after-school flood of students from nearby Nipher Middle.

The students were between the ages of 11 and 14. They tended to make a mess. The floor got dirty. Napkin dispensers were emptied. That made Devlin upset, Prosperi recalled.

“It’s not like he was looking forward to little kids coming in,” Prosperi said.

Brian Devlin, who has not spoken to his brother since they were teenagers, still struggles to reconcile the image of his brother with the one painted by the allegations.

He wants to believe his brother acted out of loneliness, not something more sinister.

“I’ve been putting my mind all different ways around this,” he said. “I just can’t judge him yet.”

Michael J. Devlin – A Monster Caught

Posted by KindraLore on January 13, 2007

I had to do another post regarding the incredible case of Ben Ownby and Shawn Hornbeck being found today. I haven’t been this happy and yet sad for children since Shasta Groene was found two years ago. When we are able to actually rescue these children from these monsters, its truly a miracle.

On another note, this man may be responsible for more disappearances in the area:

Gina Dawn Brooks in Fredericktown in 1989, last seen riding her bike

Two years later, Arlin Henderson disappears riding his bike near his home in Moscow Mills

In 2005 Bianca Piper is last seen walking on a road near her home near Foley

Heather Nicole Kullorn disappeared in 1987 when she was babysitting an infant for family friends. A neighbor saw a child being carried out of the apartment at 2:00 am wrapped in a blanket. She was reported missing at 5:00 am. Searchers found the blanket and traces of blood that matched Heather’s but the girl has never been found.

Scott Allen Kleeschulte, 9, who disappeared near his St. Charles home on the night of a fierce thunderstorm in 1988.

The links provided to the sex registry for both Utah and Texas have been taken down. It seems that the social security numbers do not match. Not the same guy. Sorry.
